I feel like I’ve been blessed,” Rita Groome said after receiving her plaque naming her the Office Employee of the Year by the Opelousas Rotary Club (Louisiana, US, District 6200).

Groome has been employed at Going, Sebastien, Fisher and LeBouef LLP since Dec. 14, 2008. Since arriving, she as made an impact on the firm with her work ethic to her pleasant personality. Her prime responsibility is to make sure all forms and letters go out in time and to the right federal and or state government agency.

“Through her vision and strong work ethic our clients get minimal notices on late filings,” LeBouef said.

Groome is also responsible for coordinating the firm’s quality control and disaster recovery manual. These are very important to allow the firm to stay current on accounting issues and to make sure, should a catastrophe occur, the firm’s personnel will know what to do and where to go to get the firm up and running and what vendors GSF&L would need to contact to buy the right equipment needed to replace what was in the office.

She has also championed special projects to make tax season and outside of tax season run more smoothly and efficient.

“Through the years, she has performed and done the above with professionalism and excellent organisational skills with an attention to detail,” said LeBouef. “That is why I nominated Rita for the Rotary Club’s Employee of the Year.”
