Shillong NGO provides home to poor children
Life for most of the underprivileged children at Reach Shillong Ministries has changed from what it was, thanks to the NGO that is to them a “home away from home” and not just a “caretaker”.
At a Children’s Day programme on the Police Training School campus, some of them said jovially that they are determined never to set foot again in their previous dwellings.
Altogether 170 children stay at the NGO’s three Open Day Shelters. Most of them earn their daily bread by selling bookmarks and collecting scraps. For more details, read: The Telegraph
