Rotary newcomer gets President’s Award Samantha Wheeler, a businesswoman and a relative newcomer to the club, was honoured for her commitment and dedication to helping raise funds for local causes.
A charitable businesswoman has been awarded Stratford Rotary Club’s (Ontario, Canada — D 6330) President’s Award in recognition of her contribution to the charity.
Samantha Wheeler, who is a relative newcomer to the club, was honoured for her commitment and dedication to helping raise funds for local causes.
Owner of the Rohan franchise in the town, Samantha helped raise money for the Entrust Care Partnership garden party, and is also a supporter of the Inner Wheel’s ‘School in a Bag’ scheme.
She also organised a successful blood pressure awareness day in Stratford, in conjunction with The Stroke Association.
Samantha has recently taken on the role of marathon race director, one of the busiest tasks in the club.
Ian Reid, President of the Rotary Club said: “Samantha is often the first to volunteer when help is needed at short notice, standing in for fellow Rotarians, picking up tasks that others can’t complete and joining in with fundraising events.”
“She recently organised the collection of clothes discarded by marathon runners, laundered them herself and gave them to a charity shop. She is a real credit to the club.”
