The house built by Rotary in Padhar village, about 17 km from Bhuj, after the debilitating earthquake of 2001, has changed hands. Rama’s husband Bharat runs a garments business in Mumbai, and she lives in Bhuj with her two sons. “We renovated the house after buying it eight years ago; it’s a lovely and safe locality, both my sons go to school and we are very happy here,” beams Rama, as she gets ready to hang out clothes for drying on the terrace.
