The Frankfort Rotary Club is bringing back the Betsie Bay Burger Battle for its third year, running from Jan. 20 to March 15 – excluding Valentine’s Day and President’s Day weekend, Feb. 14-16.

This eight-week event is a major fundraiser supporting youth programs in the community, including Books from Birth, the High School Career Expo, elementary field trips, and scholarships sending Frankfort High School students to the Rotary Life Leadership Conference and the service trip to El Salvador.
“We envision this as a win/win/win opportunity,” said Julie Schumaker, Youth Services Committee Chair for the Frankfort Rotary Club. “It is great for diners getting an amazing value, great for bringing restaurants additional business during a slower time of year, and great for supporting the youth in our community.”
Burger Battle Cards are available for $35. Each card entitles the diner to a buy-one-get-one free burger at 11 participating restaurants, which is valid for one use per location.
Participating Restaurants are Frankfort A&W, Birch & Maple, Dinghy’s Restaurant & Bar, The Eagles, Goody’s Market, Hotel Frankfort & Restaurant, Mayfair Burger Bar, Slurping Bear, Stormcloud Brewing Company, Villa Marine Bar and Vita Bella Italian Kitchen and Market.
The event isn’t just about eating; it’s about winning, according to a news release. At the end of the promotion, cardholders who register their cards will receive a survey to vote for best beef burger, best veggie burger and best server.
The kitchen teams behind the number one beef and number one veggie burgers will each receive $200 in Frankfort Bucks. The top three restaurants in both the beef and veggie categories will receive certificates and earn ultimate bragging rights.
The top three voted “best servers” will be awarded $100, $75 and $50 in Frankfort Bucks, respectively.
Those who take part in the contest are encouraged to post their photos to social media using #BBBurgerBattle or tagging the Frankfort Rotary Club’s Facebook page. At the end of the promotion, one diner will be randomly drawn to win $100 in Frankfort Bucks.
