DG lauds Rotary Femina for child education

femina-rotaryDistrict Governor of Rotary District 3250 Dr R Bharat attended a meeting hosted by Rotary Club of Jamshedpur Femina at a city hotel. This meeting is the most important meeting of the year for a Rotary club.
Earlier in the morning, DG visited Mohanpur, the village adopted by RC Jamshedpur Femina at Chhota Ghamaria and appreciated the work done for child education and welfare at the community school. He also paid a visit to new library and girls toilet made by Femina at Jamshedpur High School and Sakchi High School, the adult literacy classes, Saheli Centre was also paid attention.
Dinner of Femina’s BOD and members with the DG was held at Hotel Boulevard. In his address, DG Dr Bharat touched on several subjects pertaining to the international organisation. He said that membership in the district has declined; to counter this, we have to look at the social health of our clubs and we need new clubs in areas where Rotary is not represented. Rotary has to embrace programmes aimed at bringing more youth into Rotary. Additionally, he also suggested to develop leaders within our clubs, in order to remain dynamic.
Dr Bharat announced that the eradication of polio, a global project spearheaded by the World Health Organisation, is nearing completion.
He further elaborated on the relevance of areas on which Rotary must focus which includes providing proper sanitation especially to females, strengthening communities through basic education, ensuring the health of mothers and children, especially during and after pregnancy, fighting diseases by organising more health camps in slum areas and growing local economies in poverty-stricken areas.
