Women on Wheels drive livelihoods
Four women from less privileged families in Bengaluru Rural district received e-autos under Women-On-Wheels (WoW), a CSR initiative of RC Bangalore Lakeside, RID 3191, and ITC Filtrona. The project, costing ₹16 lakh, aims to boost women’s financial independence through sustainable livelihoods while breaking stereotypes in the male-dominated transport sector.
Mobile dental care clinic
RC Agartala City, RID 3240, launched its first global grant project: a mobile dental clinic was handed over to the Ramakrishna Mission in Agartala. RC Biratnagar Downtown, RID 3292, Nepal, was the international partner. The clinic’s first outreach at the Maharaja Bir Bikram University provided free dental screening to 65 people.
Revamping a school
RC Calcutta Kankurgachi, RID 3291, through its Rotary Club Calcutta Kankurgachi Welfare Trust, completed the first phase of Gyanalok Agami (Light of Knowledge) at Vivekananda Rotary Sishu Sikshaniketan, Bankura. The project renovated the school classrooms, gave new play equipment and took up campus beautification.
Vocational training for visually impaired
RC Pune Heritage, RID 3131, in collaboration with Samruddhi Development Trust, trained 35 visually-impaired people in professional therapeutic massage skills through a 15-day course and provided each participant with a starter kit. The total cost of the initiative was ₹1.5 lakh.
