Bharat Pandya, a member of RC Borivli, RID 3141, is the selection of the nominating committee for RI president for 2028–29. He will officially become the president-nominee on September 15 if there is no challenge.
Pandya served as RI director for 2019–21, RI treasurer for 2020–21 and was TRF trustee during 2022–26. He is currently chair of the RI Programs Committee and vice chair of TRF Programs Committee. He served on the India PolioPlus Committee in 2011–15, during which time India was certified polio-free. During his year as DG in 2006–07, RID 3140 contributed over $2 million to TRF and for the first time in the history of TRF an Indian district — D 3140 — became world number 1 in TRF contributions.
Pandya and his wife, Madhavi, a past district chair of Inner Wheel District 314, are Major Donors and Benefactors. Pandya is a general and laparoscopic surgeon, and Madhavi, a gynaecologist.
