A state-of-art mental health facility was set up at the Ranchi Institute of Neuro-Psychiatry and Allied Sciences (RINPAS) by RC Ranchi, RID 3250, through a CSR-funded project worth ₹2 crore in partnership with Central Coalfields Ltd, a PSU company.
Project Manas has brought in a non-invasive treatment facility called dTMS (Deep Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) at this government mental health hospital for patients suffering from depression, OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder), smoking addiction, and other neuropsychiatric disorders. “The dTMS facility has opened a new avenue of hope for thousands of patients across Jharkhand and neighbouring states,” said Amit Agarwal, immediate past president of the club.
With such an advanced mental healthcare accessible at the government hospital, “our project has also enhanced the awareness on mental health by reducing the stigma attached to such disorders, and improving the quality of life for many families,” he added. Jharkhand health minister Irfan Ansari inaugurated the new facility in the presence of district Rotary leaders, company officials and healthcare professionals.
