To mark the golden jubilee year of RC Pataliputra, RID 3250, a Rotary clock tower was installed at the Dak Bungalow Chauraha, a busy market place in Patna. The structure features GPS-enabled 42-inch diameter clocks on all four sides, equipped with illuminated backlit dials for enhanced visibility. The tower is crafted with high-grade cast iron, and combines durability with elegance. A UPS power backup ensures 24×7 operation. This pubic image project was conceived by past president Swati Modi, and executed by a team led by project chair Navin Gupta and PDG Bipin Chachan.

Gupta said installing a clock tower at this high-visibility location was a “formidable challenge that required approvals from various government authorities — Ministry of Home Affairs, Bihar; the Director General of Police; ADG-Traffic and Beautification, the Patna Municipal Corporation; and the City Commissioner. Securing clearances from all the departments was a herculean task, and it took around three months of regular follow-up and coordination.”
Also, the project faced resistance from a local advertiser who opposed the clock tower at that intersection as he was earning a substantial revenue from the hoardings. “We overcame these challenges, thanks to the relentless efforts of the project team of RC Pataliputra,” he said.
The Rotary clock tower in Patna bagged the Best Public Image Project Award of RID 3250 in recognition of its impact and visibility. The then state minister for urban development Jibesh Kumar inaugurated it in August 2025.
